#6 Game-Stop?

When I was a young lad, when I saw a video game that caught my eye, I had to convince my parents to take me to the store and buy a disc copy of it. However, the evolution and advancement of technology has changed these methods.

In the present day, you can buy a game from the comfort of your own home digitally and it'll be downloaded within the hour with decent Internet speeds. The need for game disc is diminishing more and more each day.
Perhaps no other cooperation is feeling this shift more than the once Video Game retail giant GameStop. CNN reported that GameStop will be closing over 150 stores nationwide. GameStop announced that their overall sales fell over 13% over the last quarter.

Amazon and other digital distribution platforms are really hurting
GameStop's sales
They aren't selling as many games as they used to. The rise of digital distribution of video games is effecting GameStop much like the digital distribution of movies effected retail stores like the now closed Blockbuster.

In addition to Digital Distribution, GameStop is losing sales to Internet powerhouses such as Amazon. The need for brick-and-mortar video game businesses is steadily diminishing.

If game stop doesn't evolve, or create a new innovation for selling video games, they will soon be left in the dust.
